Why did George kill Lenie?
Why did George kill Lennie? In part six, something totally deplorable happened. GEORGE KILLED LENNIE! When I first read that part I couldn't make my brain to understand what had just happened. I re-read that part easily 5 times. It happened so fast! After Lennie accidentally killed Curley's wife, I didn't think it could get any worse! But it did. My first opinion on the matter is that George knew the guys were coming after Lennie to "shoot him in the guts" so maybe George wanted Lennie to not get hurt so badly. Maybe George wanted Lennie to go to heaven so Lennie could get the "fatta lan" that's waiting up there for him. George's last line to Lennie is, "'Sure, right now. I gotta. We gotta"'(106). I think that George couldn't bear the thought of one of the other guys killing Lennie, so he killed Lennie himself.
