Lennie's Imagination
Why was Lennie's imagination so vivid in the last chapter? When Lennie had escaped from the farm after he killed Curly's wife, Lennie started to imagine George and his dream. Lennie was thinking of there dream so much he pretended it was real. I think Lennie was actually hallucinating from when he killed Curly's wife. Lennie was running to the safe spot George told him about. I think Lennie had so much guilt for what he did that he just started hallucinating. Lennie was thinking about the mice George promised him and the mice were talking. Lennie was also "talking" to George like he was there next to him but in reality he was not. Lennie then saw "from out of [his] head there came a little fat old womam". Lennie was all over the place after he killed Curly's wife. I think as a result lennie started to hallucinate to a time in his life he would like to be. What mental state do you think lennie was in?
